Inspiration was instilled to society during the four terms U.S. president Franklin D. Roosevelt held office. He led the United States through the Great Depression and World War II. He was a man who symbolized change, progress, and hope and effectively restored the faith several individuals lost as a result of the depression and war. By the time Roosevelt took office in March of 1933 as the 32nd president, there were 13 million unemployed Americans, and hundreds of banks were closed. Roosevelt faced the greatest crisis in American history since the Civil War. During the economic depression, President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s biggest goal was to get people back to work, getting them fed, sheltered, and fixing the economy. During World War II Franklin Roosevelt’s aspiration was to save the world from utter collapse. He had to persuade the Americans to help Britain and France fight against dictator Hitler. He had to deal with Japan s demands. When they attacked he put the U. S. into the war to fight off Japan and Germany. He then worked closely with France, England and Russia to defeat the Nazis. He also had an idea to join forces with the Allies to create the United Nations. Despite the conflicts worldwide, he sought to improve the state of the American nation to one all could be proud of. Methods Participants The sample collected were acquired by surveying parents about children who were currently in the Developmental Psychology class at Union College. These parents were not paid in any way and were recruited by their children requesting their responses. A total of 50 responses were gathered, however some children had two parents evaluate them and others only had one. In these instances, when two parents evaluated, their scores were added and divided by two in order to get the average score for each child. This left us with 32 subjects of which 9 were male and 23 were female. This study is mostly a retrospective study, therefore the parent raters often had to think back over a decade to rate their children which currently were enrolled at Union College. The age range at the time of the study was 17 years with the eldest being 22 years of age and the youngest only 5 years old. This is important to note because participants were asked to evaluate their children when they were about 5 years old. Assessing retrospectively may be a limitation in this study. Therefore, according to our results all but 6 responses were done retrospectively, evaluating at least 9 years in the past. Due to the fall of oil process, the economy of the GCC areas and MENA region is running at loss, hence the companies are not able to recruit new people in their all departments of the organization. The career developments of the employees associated with the organizations are at stake as the countries are witnessing a serious downturn in the economy. The companies are not providing proper training and development to the junior level managers so that they can be promoted to middle level managers while increasing their responsibility (Breyer Gerlach, 2013). Recommendations The recommendations are to be formulated as per the challenges faced by the organizations in the human resource department which is mentioned in the above. The recommendations are: The companies must restructure their financial departments so that they can recruit required senior and middle level managers wherever required. The government of Saudi Arabia in its Vision 2030 formulate strategies that will not only develop the economy of the country but also it will substantially reduce the rate of unemployment from 11.6% to 7% by development of more private sector companies along with the improvement of education (El Fadel et al., 2013). Effective training and developmental programs are to be set in order to increase the effectiveness of the skills and attributes of the employees. The departments of the organizations must be restructured in a proper way so that they do not downsize any departments in the long run. As the quality of education will rise, hence the companies can recruit people from the country itself while providing competitive package to the newly recruited people (Cashin et al., 2014). Conclusion It can be concluded from the fact that the executives of GCC and MENA have formulated strategies that are responsible for the development of the employees careers and the increase in the rate of employment in the countries. There are several issues that the companies of these countries are facing that are creating impact both in their business processes as well as to their different employees of several operational departments. However, the recommendations are formulated in a way so that they can improve the condition of the organizations as well as increase in the development of the economy of the GCC and MENA region.
